I had my de-cat fitted after my unichip(and plenum).
Went back to velos and the unichip didn't need altering.
Just gave an extra 5bhp at the wheels without any raspy noise! (Janspeed mild steel)
Ul probably need to put ur cat back on for the MOT, unless you can find a friendly MOT station!
Not that im sujesting that you break the law!
I may know sum1 who can help you with raising ur rev limit if its after 97 (has to be 16 pin diagnostic plug).
Me mate is going on a traing course for programming ecu's soon.
With ARP bolts i was running 7250/7500rpm daily but ran 7500/7800rpm once without blowing it up.
Just never used to bounce off the limiter much in 1st (never in neutral), always used to hit it in 2nd (63mph), 3rd and 4th(115mph) though!

to be honest your car will prob still fail its MOT with the cat on... just find a nice station
My silver sport passed 2 mot's over the limit.... one with no cat, 1 with a cat....
it was the idle test mine failed on d/t cams
dont even think my 2.0 had a emmisions test... never had any scooshers, no horn - but got an MOT

The Unichip can be 'switched off' ie instructed not to make any alterations to the standard map. So if you refit the CAT and switch the Unichip off, you should be OK. You'll need a laptop though to access the Unichip

Unichip shouldn't need altering for cat or de-cat, mine didnt and spec wasnt that different to what yours will be.

Why would anyone want to hit the rev limiter in neutral?
You should be fine. I passed my emmisions test.
