not if they give you notice. if you been there for a certain amount of time u get redundancy.

I was there nearly a year, and ive just read through my contract and it stated they can cease employment with no notice, but i do get garden leave.

ffs why didnt i read it.

no, its where they terminate ur employment but continue to pay you for a set period.

I know, Ive been working for 18 months since i left school and this is the second time ive been laid off/made redundant whatever u want to call it.

No one will take me on with that on my C.V

No-one can cease employment for no reason... may be worth a quick chat with a legal advisor... the gardenng leave may be their way out of it though

Ally, send an email to Citizens Advice Bureau, and explain your exact situation.

They should get back to you with the legalities and what you can do about it
