hi everyone
i got a few questions, could you answer or recommend me??
Q1 which brand of exhaust is quiet? i just know Remus. does any others are cheaper? how about Mongoose??
Q2 i would like to low down my car about 40mm and my car was made on 1999, if i just chang the spring, the dampers will be damage easier??
Q3 there is a thing to fit on the chassis, a steel stick, each on the front and rear, every car has a standar one and we can change it to thicker. what name it is?? i think it different as strust brace, because strust brace is fit on the top of suspension. but their function is quite similar.
Q4 when i chang these parts, the normal insurance will not insure the car. if i don't tell the insurance company, will i get trouble with police when i have a crash? or should i change the insurance company? how about you did?
Q5 my alloy wheell is standar one, can i change the tyre to 185/55/14 ?? do you have any tyre can recommend me?? i would like to change the tyre with better handleing rather sunny or rainy day, abrasion is not too fast and price is not too high.
i am look forward to your reply
thank you

Hey mate.
I can't answer all your questions, but I can help ya out with some.
Q2. If you install lowered springs, your shock absorbers will wear out quicker. Saying that though, they aren't exactly going to eat themselves on the first bump you hit. If a shocky lasts, say, 120,000kms, if you ran the shock on lowered springs, it might only last 70,000kms. You will also have inferior handling, compared to if you changed both your springs AND added lower rate shocks. Best to upgrade both.
Q3. The bent rod thingy is called a 'sway bar' or 'anti-roll bar'. This helps to eliminate body roll. The thicker you go, the less body roll.
Q4. You won't get into trouble from the Police, but your insurance company can void your insurance claim if they find your car is non-standard, or you haven't informed them of the modification. If you were to deck your car on its ass, causing it to spray sparks out the rear, however, that'd be another story. Police seem to frown on that sort of thing. No sense of humor, I guess!

any exhaust, if you put enough mufflers on it.
Why do you want a silent exhaust.
For me the louder, the better.
Had a Remus exhaust without the middle muffler and without cat.
took me about 15000 km (not miles) to get some noise.
If you want quiet, I'd go for the Remus.
They are verry food quality and yes expensive but worth the money

A1/ Sebring backboxes are a deep but quiet tone, nice sound
A2/ your dampers will get damaged in time, better off with performance shockers
A3/ Anti Roll Bar
A4/ best to let any insurance company know about modifications, however if they dont allow it, its worth considering another company that do allow mods
A5/ I'd just buy alloys mate, but Toyo and GoodRidge are good tyre brands
