Well just tryed both, 1st one said 504. the UK one said 580.
I've got NTL 600. When its on its ok. Always cutting out. its off on average about 6 hours a day. Pain in the arse. Never using NTL again.
When i call them up, they give me the "its a firewall problem on your computer" line. I know it aint my end, i got a degree in Networks, prob know more about it then them. Muppets.

yes mine cuts out alot too. i find when im using bit torrent it cuts out?? u have to unplug ur set top box from the mains, leave it for ten secs, then plug it back in again. this will reset the box and re-activate ur internet. i have called out NTL about this problem, he told me it was because i had my PS2 on top of the set top box?! ive moved it and it still cuts out, loada bollox!

Dave17 - yerh i know about the reset trick, its not the modem tho. Its cos they have too many people on the line in this area now.
To be fair I had a NTL 1meg line last year from NTL in my uni house (different area) and that was ok most of the time, would cut out once in a while, maybe couple of times a month, but thats nothing to worry about really. That said, my friends who still live in that house this year are now getting big problems there too with ntl.
IM SHOCKED THO! U called NTL and got to talk to someone?!?! I might put aside most of next week and give them a call. whatever time of day i call, sit in a que for a min of an hour to talk to someone who puts u on hold for another 2!
The communications company...I think not.
