I am getting really fucked off with my Astra now!

It has the following problems:

- Clifford Concept 300 decides to go off when it feels like it (first time in about 3 weeks now since it was supposedly 'fixed' - maybe it's down to the hot weather?)

- One of the fuel hoses connected to the fuel evaporation valve (I think) is pissing out fuel - don't want to attempt to fix it myself in case I blow myself and the car up!

- Sometimes hear/feel a clunk when braking, checked the discs and pads and they are all OK, could be suspension related (eg. worn bush)?

I feel like cutting my losses and just selling my shed and buying something else! I only bought it in February!

Argh I need to chill out, maybe I should go look at some porn or something!

alarm - probably prox sensor, or needs adjusting
fuel hose - get it sorted as soon as, coz if petrol touches anything that is hot then u've got a BIG problem

Well originally the alarm kept going off when it felt like it because the installer cut the wrong ignition wire or something, since the second guy "fixed it" it's been alright till about 1/2 hour ago, hasn't gone off in over 3 weeks.

I left a bottle of water on the passenger seat, do you think if the water inside it moved that it would make the alarm go off?

As for fuel leak, it only does it when starting the engine from cold (or like starting the engine after it's been sat for a couple of hours).

Maybe the hose and/or the fuel evaporation valve is blocked because as well as fuel leaking from the end of the hose connected to the engine you can see a tiny leak from the other end of the hose (which goes into the valve)...

How can you tell if the ball joints are fucked? When I checked the discs and pads I looked at them and couldn't see any signs of the rubber bit on them split or anything. Bearings are fine too, no play when moving the discs whatsoever.

jack the car up a tiny bit so the tyres are just off the ground, put a lever under the tyre and see if the wheels move up and down, you'll hear a clunk
