I'm in the process of researching and buying an OBD2 connector cable for my car to connect to my laptop.
Does anyone know where the OBD2 socket is in the corsa (i thought it was next to the fuse box but that looks like a high power socket to me now)?
I seem to have discovered the corsa B 1999 uses VPW variable Pulse Width (opposed to PWM or ISO) can anyone back this up for me?

the corsa C is OBD2 corsa B is ALDL and the socket is next to the fuse box and looks like this:

Yep its a 16 pin ALDL connector.
Now i just have to find an interface for it.

what do u hope to gain by connecting ur laptop to ur car? im interested to know, can u u2u me back a reply please mate.

I am a third year mechanical engineering undergraduate.
I am just interessted to analyse why my car does certain things as i drive...fluctuations in power etc.
I will also be able to log data from it and produce estimates of it's BHP and Torque.
Lots of things really...

Going to try and make an interface but the circuit diagram i have only has info for a 10 pin aldl plug, mine is a 16 pin one.

Sounds interesting if you can get it too work. Im not sure how useful it will be though.
For best results put your hand in your pocket and get a aftermarket management system. You'll be able to do loads more and data log. You'd also be able to adjust things and see how it responds. The whole concept of mapping what it does where and why, so your not doing anything new....
My power goes down to about 11v at over 7700rpm, I imagin the alternator cant keep up.
Why not just go on a rr?

Its a 'project' anyone can pay to go on a rolling road..... i'd like to have the ability to do it myself.

not saying u cant as such but when i had a superchip fitted t omy car they mapped over the standard map, so in a way if he was able to he could modify the standard map surely or am i wrong?

do a search on 1227808 ( its a GM part #)
lots of stuff out there for it.
does any one have the pinout for the CFI ecu in the corsa B?
