Drill holes in the floor pan to bolt harnesses? My mate said he did it in a Scooby in college... But he didnt say if he needed to weld a plate underneath to give it a bit more strength? Anyone know?
P.S. this is for harnesses on back bucket seats...

if you do i would recommend either putting a huge washer type thing underneath or yeah weld to give extra strength - seat beats/harnesses aint things to be bodged!!

Yea, you don't bodge seatbelts! I wanted to use the standard seatbelts, cos of the safety issue, but there just isnt going to be room with the bucket seats in there... And I really wanna have back buckets!

all buckets look shit with standard seatbeats IMO so definatly go for harnesses but secure them properly  i was tempted to go for back buckets to but decided to get rid of rear seats all together!!

u dont drill any holes as u use the original ones which are located under where the rear seats used to be

ahhh good idea! Where would I bolt the front harnesses to? Would it be safe to bolt them to where the original rear seat belt loops over, at the highest point?

Does anyone else know anything about this? Would it be ok to bolt the back harness to the original mounts, cos looking at it, its gonna be pretty tight...

If you're securing things to the floor then you're safe to drill through - just use a huge washer or plate underneath as upside suggests.
Either that or recycle existing points - this makes most sense.
Edited to say that the fuel tank is underthere, be careful where you choose!

Yea, I gotta remove the fuel tank for bolting the subframes, I'm fabricating to hold the rear seats in, down.

Na the back bench has gone... I'm putting a pair of bucket seats in the back... I think I got everything covered, I need to make a few holes, weld a few plates in, or make some huge washers for the back harnesses, and use some of the existing points to attatch the front harnesses... It's gonna take a bit of planning but should work out.

i also wana do this with the front harnesses ive seen it done in a corsa in a magazine once and i wana either put buckets in the back or keep the rear bench. i really done wana use the excistin mounts on the rear.

Put buckets in! It's pretty easy. Well in theory it is... My old man reckons I could do it myself...

yere i think im gona do as you said drill holes in the rear foort well behind thwe front seats and mount my harnesses there but im gona reinforce them underneath.

Yea, thats what my mate told me to, he learnt how to do it at motor sport college on this scooby they were building. I'm gonna double check with him how to do it, or even better get him to do it for me...
