i found this out thought id share with you
it is illegal to to drive a car registered after august 1992 "k-reg" onwards without a cat fitted.
you will fail an mot without a cat
also it will fail a roadside check if the police decide to run one.
if they do its a instant £60 fine and 3 points on your licence
aswell as this you will get a 14 day notice to get your car re-tested mot
so if you have a de-cat on your car and you get caught, it could be your licence
there is if's and buts the police wil run a check
but as they now have to start re-moving speed cameras they will be looking for other things to get you on
just thought id share with you

They would need a reasonable excuse to start checking your de-cat pipe though...the police cannot stop u without reasonable grounds of suspicion...

a stop check is all they need.

theres a million reasons they can stop you

I can just see it now: Yes officer, I was driving happily along when I felt a bump under my car when I stopped at some lights. I put it down to the road, but it only turns out some pikey had crawled up through the sewers, cut my cat off while I was stopped, and welded a straight pipe in there. Unbelievable, isn't it, what pikeys will do these days!
Would YOU believe you, if you said that?
