Will 195/45/16 wheels from my corsa fit on a new shape punto? Ive been told they will buy one of my mates - but i wanna make sure?!

You mean just tyres or wheels and tyres? The PCD may not be suitable?

i mean both ian - one of my mates sold him standard gsi wheels to someone who had a punto n he said they went straight on but thought id better check first!
