Got mine done in sextons in Bath; was about £70 a door; dunno bout the TT doors as there a heavier. But as for the battery you can get some sort of jack plug under the car that could be connected to the battery in case of this. Something like a caravan adaptor are popular.

U want a top alarm to run this! not just a solenoid, the toad 606i is your best bet and not too pricy, 200-250 fitted.
If your batt goes flat then erm....u will have to break in?????

loads of people have done this and put a small 12v battery in their boot etc and got a little device that detects when the main battery goes below a certain voltage, usually 1-2v etc then switches over the power for the locks to run off this battery Obviously this spare battery is rechargable and charges from the main battery when the engine is on

And you dont need an alarm to do this if you just getting buttons under the mirrors then it can all be electronically without an alarm

Although, someone on here has done it the mechanical way (what they use on the aston martine's ) and got a rod that connects to the locks etc that pushes the doors open and has an alarm that locks/unlocks the doors via central locking

As for price havnt got a clue, although i heard the mechanical way is a git to do and its a tad pricey

yeah was gonna have it done to my Nova; the local electrical specialist said he had put the power hidden adaptor under the car of a Cosworth for this reason; from what he said was a relatively inexpensive. One thing i would say is get the solinoids fitted a while before the handles taken off just to test them over a period of time

Yea good point It wouldnt be too helpful to have the solinoids to pack up and you cant access the car One thing though, i wouldnt get the door pins taken out either, just incase you have to break the glass...otherwise you'll be totally screwed to get it, and have to climb through broken glass to get into your car

I was just saying it would be easier to link it to a multi channel alarm and the buttons could be on your key fob instead of under the wing
Sorry if i am wrong!
