Just bought myself a new battery from Halfords. My old one was 180A, the only numbers i can see on this new one are 400 and 70.
Looked in the Halfords book (by the batteries) and got the one for a 1.4 SRI.
Does anyone know how much more powerful this battery is compared to my old one?
Oh and its a calcium one as well. Cost me 50 notes.

shoulda gone vauxhall for free battery check, and u coulds had a vauxhall battery with 3yr warranty on fitted for less than 30notes. should be aa 44ah battery on that

i got a 3 year with this one. And as far as i know it's an uprated battery so should be better than my old (dead) one.
Not bothered about the fitting, can do that myself, or get a mate.
Was just wondering what the difference was between the two thats all.

70 might be the amp rating usually find it'll prob be 66ah. its ok getting a bigger battery but reasons why smaller batterys used on smaller cars is that the alterpotaters will charge happily at 14.5v but the amp rate at charge may only be max prob 55ah. im v surprised halfords didnt tell u this. u may find also with a calcium sourced battery that if the alternator isnt powerful enough to charge properly, you may in future develop a resistive cell in the battery.
