Leave it on, without it your intake is sucking in hot air which will decrease performance. Get induction kit, make alloy heatshield and get a 3" piece of heat proof flexi hose from front bumper to filter.
jobs a good 'un

induction kits are pants, couple of mates have had them and said the cars performance has gone down hill, drilled airbox is better. Paul i kno, its like a toy car what about a cold air feed from the bumper then :boogle: then i can use that for when ive drilled it next week

Ind kits are as good if they are heat protected and have plenty of cold air feeds. Anyway your hardly after performance hike in a 3 cylinder are you?? its about noise!!!
i got K&N on 1.4 16V and its quality, loads of noise and no flat spots. I think they worth it IMO

shag an induction kit drill you airbox man. Its free! and i cant imagine a cone filter being much louder. i still have to get a k&n panel filter for mine yet but its well loud with the standard filter and there is slightly more torque.
i should be shot for saying the word torque when discribing the 1.2 8V 's performance.

yeh but alot of people say "i'm not bothered about performance" till they get flat spots all over the place then its bothers them.

Thats my point, if u get induction kit, heatshield and air feed you will get better performance, noise and NO flats spots.
that my opinion
