Hi guys & gals... first post here so be gentle

Has anybody got or had experience with the new 1.8 SRi.. I'm currently thinking about getting one and just trying to get some feeling for it. I've had 2 Corsa's before and loved every minute of them (1.4 & 1.6 sport)

Is there many known faults, recalls etc with the new Corsa. Just wondering cuz I had the old sticky valve issue with the 1.4.

Cheers all

A 1.8 would kill a 1.4 just like the 1.4 kills the 1.2s

what is the 0-60 of the 1.8?

My 1.4 does it in around 10secs.

im thinking its a good car, especially with imrcher/steinmetz kit on. Good strong engine with plenty of potential, and standard performance is not bad, quicker than the B GSi's/Sport 1.6's.

8.0sec to 60. That ain't slow. A performance exhaust and a Viper filter could probably see 7.5 which is quick.

1.8 will have enough guts for me really. Probably lob in a filter and that will do.

Reason I'm asking really is that I am a mega-gutted owner of an ST170. It was my first and last Ford. I've had over a dozen recalls, Loads of rattles, most trim-screws loose, cracked bumper, leaky powersteering, water in spark-plugs twice, dash-lights not working all time, noisy rear shockers etc. The faults list is endless and keeps getting longer. Just want rid of it. The money I get from this will pay for my SRi outright.

Like I said earlier, I loved my other Corsa's to bits. really well built etc. I think in some respects that they have gone backwards with the Corsa C model, inside looks a bit cheap and plasticky and a few corners have been cut IMO.

Just really wanted to know if people have had much agro with their cars.

lol my dad had an ST170 and it didnt go wrong once. It really proves that you can get good and bad cars brand new these days. Still, he was taking it back to the garage before he emmigrated and i followed so i could take him home again, and right up to about 100, he couldnt shake me, stuck to his tail the whole time in a 1.6 corsa he was pissed off at that
