its mental that. i have fitted so many 2lt 16v etc and never once have i seen a chain driven one
supose never really looked

The Micra CG10 and CG13, 1.0 and 1.3 are Chain, as is as said the SE20DET on the Silvia S14 and 200sx.
Its more to do with engine design than the power of the engine or maintenance. i.e the designers, designed it with a chain, rather than a belt, for what reason, who the fuck knows.

beardy, its probably because the 1.0 and 1.2 are suzuki engines and not vauxhall ones.

they aint. suzuki bought the engine design of vauxhall in 1998.
