go to pay tax disc down at the post office, it had2 be renewed yesterday (april 1st) and the bloke told me I have now have an £80 fine.
i have one leaflet that says you get a fine if you dont pay it on time you get a fine, another says you have 30 days in which to pay it,

you wont get a fine if you tax the car within the first 14 days after the tax has expired as long as the vehicle is kept off the road until it is taxed and the tax is backdated to the start of the month.

Hi, i work in the dvla. There is 14 days after the tax has expired before any fines are sent out. The car does need to be kept off the road until it is taxed but doesnt need to be declared off the road if its within the first 14 days.
Flameredcorsab you wont get a fine!
