Can anyone reccommend a decent diesel? I need decent fuel economy and ideally something that looks good. If it doesn't look good then it has to be cheap!

So far:

MK4 Golf Anniversary Edition
New Audi A3
BMW 320CD

Best ones I could come up with but all are more than I was looking to spend

I have had the Mini about 6months. Love it to bits but it seems to drink petrol and I start a new job in August which means oing quite a few miles. Ideally wanted to move to something cheaper, more economical and more suited to motorway miles.

All decent diesels seem v. expensive though.

Leon sounds interesting though Cheers!

If i wanted performance I would not have bought a Mini! Handling is awesome though and it makes me smile, which is what its all about.

I might buy a cheap diesel and keep the Mini too. Lupo diesel does 70mpg but I'm not sure I would feel safe on the motorway in a Lupo!

Thats the Golf BTW. Good spec but a year old 320CD is more appealing!

Fabia VRs sub 10second diesel, for piss all money and excellenct build quality. failing that, go for the Leon, same engine, different badge, touch more class inside.
