I didn't have a problem with the 539s that were on the original GSi wheels on the Corsa. Having said that all Yokos are notoriously bad in the wet - I had 520s which were a bit daft in anything other than sunshine!

A539's are great, controlled sliding in the wet, don't just let go. All the road rally people swear by them

i had michelin exaltos which were pretty good in the wet actually.
my pug had toyo proxes all round and they were good in the dry.
but 205s dont like the wet anyway so with tyres that dont perform in the wet ur a bit fucked!

well i am extremly pleased with my Toyos,
i think they grip really well,
only problem i would say is that they wear a little quick, but this is because of their compound and this is how they grip so well,
also they look sexeh

I think most people moan about A539's because they see everyone else do it and dont want to appear different.
We use A539's for track days at Knockhill on a 205, Nova, Evo3 and Civic Type R (Old model) rally cars. They're cheap, good for grip and for a multi condition tyre they're better than most other tyres.
Im not saying they're amazing, but they're a hell of a lot better than most road tyres and at a fraction of the cost.

In my opinion tyres are the one think you shouldnt scrimp on forking out for as at the end of the day it doesnt matter what you've done to your car, if the thing doesnt grip then your fooked.
Today I forked out a serious ammount for 16 tyres for a rally next month and Im willing to pay it as I know its the one of the most important parts so must be as good as I can get.

I have a 1.2 8v with 539's in the dry i cant really fault them as i never can get quick enough to actually slide but in the wet they are a bugger, as everyone knows corsa's understeer like theres no tomorrow and at times this can be rather scary, im surprised cos i can wheel spin in second in the wet with them.

18 months? I had the tyres on new the Friday before last year's Billing show. My front tyres were so bad by December I had to swap them to the rear - some people pointed out to me that the bead was showing through
The other two had finally got to a bad state last week - about 9 months for a set of 4 tyres.

It's a graphite-based paint with similar properties in it's solid state to hardened carbon fibre sheets.
The benefits are mainly aesthetic as it's quite a brittle polymer - I wouldn't recommend using the paint for any application that will be load-bearing.

Uniroylal rainsports are good actually, there wat i run. Similar tread to toyos but MUCH grippier in the wet.
Get them.
