it will go in a corsa, but it is the ecotec engine, not the C20XE. Less powerful, and less tuning parts available.

fair enough matt, just all the tuning sites ive been on seem to offer a lot more parts for the C20XE. Im guessing it would cost more money to get it to C20XE power as standard anyway, cos it has a 16 or 23bhp disadvantage.

I suppose if your going from 1.2 8v 45 bhp, 136 bhp aint bad - especially considering its only 54,000 miles rather than like most C20XE's over 80,000... depends what you want I suppose.

And the other problem is, is when I go to get insured i'm sure most people will tell me to GTF I guess I'm gonna hve to stick a GSi lump in me 8v

adrian flux arent too bad on insurance, and give a 10% corsasport discount. I saved about £190 on insurance by paying £12.50 for premium membership!

Tuning parts for the Ecotec 2.0 16v are becoming readily available so there's no real reason why you should choose one over the other.
If you can get a cheaper Ecotec 2.0 16v than a C20XE then go for it.
You should aim to rebuild the engine before fitting it to another car anyway so any mileage isn't really a factor.

It's not necessarily a restriction on that engine. People just assume that removing EGR systems, cats, etc are the secret to unlocking hidden power in their engine.

I heard that reliability is a problem with these, but ive heard that about EVERY engine.
And joff is rihght, mileage is just a guide not a damning factor
