Oh dear

I hit a Buy Now button last night for £2000.00 but what i meant to do was to put a small bid in. I want the item but i don't have 2k to pay for it and it's not work 2k.

I have offered to pay the dudes fees as i am an honest person but can i claim this back of eBay as it was a mistake.

I know it's a bit funny like but it's gonna cost me £45 in fees

Unlikely you can claim it back

Should have apologised and told the guy to relist it.

Or ignore anything he sends you and take the flack etc

I have apologised of course. It was an accident. I think all i can really do is to send him a cheque and then ask eBay for advice. Do you get a free relist if you relist?

Just sent eBay this email:

Hi eBay,

I have accidentally hit a Buy Now button on item number: 2239020868. As I don’t require the item (a bit expensive for a student) I can only therefore offer to pay the seller the eBay fees. He has accepted this and I will send off a cheque on Monday 19th April for £45 for the fees but I was wondering if there was anyway the buyer could claim these fees back from eBay or I could retract this Buy Now. £45 is a bit of expense when I’m not even going to get anything for my money

Many thanks, Andrew.

the worst that can happen is u get negative feedback, just comment on what happened, offer to pay relisting fee
