Last night while goin to Fezzy Park driving down the A34. Its a 60 limit most of the way down but goes into a 40 and right next to the sign is a camera. I didn't notice the 40 limit because I was too busy keeping the car at 60 for the camera. Flash flash! 4kin thing got me!! Its a well harsh place to put a camera, and if I do get caught I will be appealing, as its obviously just there to catch motorists out and make money!! Which is apparantly not what these things are for.

I'd advise not trying to use that as a defence for the appeal, since they'll probably throw "driving without due care & attention" at you aswell...

My point being that these things make drivers stare at the speedo instead of the road, which is obviously unsafe! And its not just me, everyone I have been in a car with is constantly checking the clock as they go thru, so if a kid stepped out in that time you would hit them, but at leas you wouldn't be speeding

We have these damn laser cameras here in SOuth Africa and they do not have to flash at all. Some do just to warn you there is a camera. They even nail you for travelling too close to the car in front.

It is a joke! My mate phoned up his insurance company for a renewal quote last week and they said "We don't count SP30 speeding offences anymore because that many people have got them!"

Lucky for us there is no points system over here yet but they are talking about it.

It is quite normal to not have number plates on your car if you speed a lot. I have plates that cannot be read by the laser but my car is a Yokohama/TSW sponsored one so they can pick it up from the branding.

50 = 50mph / 90kmh = normal cruising on streets
160kmh = normal cruising on highway (not legal - legal = 120kmh)

I think common sense would be a better idea! Like the empty road I was doing 60mph on yesterday, which goes into a 40 for no apparant reason, as it goes back to a 60 another 100 yards down the road. Coincidence that the 40mph limit and gatso were brought in at the same time!
