They are the 605cs or something and yes dropping to -3db makes a difference sounds better IMO, ive got a £150 Caliber EQ and its great got a few more levels than a headunit but has knobs so can adjust bass to suit each track etc

ive got some 5000cs (the crap versions  ) and ive yet to drop them 3db, but they do sound fooking tinny. However, i noticed some tracks sound really good and some sound there tinny etc. I might look into that EQ then, after something with a few more bands that just Bass +/-, Treble +/- on my HU
