2 days ago the engine electronic management light came on while doing a 3point turn?
its a 1.6 Gsi 16v C16XE "L"reg 1994 with 80k miles
the handbook says the car will be runining on emergency running program and it may use more fuel and cause damage to the cat, and i have to avoid long journeys?
i dont wanna pay shite loads for vauxhall to check wats wrong!
can sumone tell me how to do the pin test to check the fault code myself?

Dont be a cheep skate and get your ass to vauxhall and ask them to put it on tech 2 for a look at the fault code.
This will then tell you what the problem is and how much to cure.
Knowing what the fault is will tell you if you can diy fix or not.
Better to find out sooner than latter if not you could try looking for a new engine.......mmmm wounder whats the cheepest option.

thanks a lot for your help guys, saved my self some money by doing the pin test my self, its quite simple really
the fault code was=
92- Camshaft sensor - Faulty hall effect sensor or circuit!!!
what exactly does this mean,were abouts is it located, is it a DIY job or somthing for the experts???
wat further damage can this cause? wil it be ok to still drive the car?

the hall effect sensor is used to measure the speed the cams are goin round for ignition timing,
it'l be facing wot looks like a pulley but has teeth on it round the oputside if u know wot i mean

oh and u can drive ur car it'l not cause any damage short term but u might aswell get it sorted asap
