All depends on the insurance company.
Laserline are a good brand of cat 1 to go for, ive had a few and no problems at all with em.
But every man, woman and dog tend to try to go for the clifford, god knows why cause ive know alot of people have problems with em, and then again alot who hasnt, but then that can be said for alot of other things as well.
Tend to get around 12% off the insurance when have cat 1 fitted and can provide proof of fitting with the cert'.

if you dont get a cat1 certificate it isnt CAT1, doesnt matter what it says on the tin, its not a cat1 one without an OFFICIAL certificate
