how do u do it?
one cable goes from mother board to the HDD then to the 1st CD drive (CDRW)
i need another cable, but does it need 2 b a 3 way one OR just a normal one which goes off the spare slot on the m/b

jumper the cdrw drive as the primary master and then stick the rom on the primary slave channel

Easy enough to do, just make sure you know which is primary/secondary master/slave......I've got 4 drives in this machine, all working fine (CD-Rom, 180Gb HD, CD-RW, 120Gb HD)

same as 8GB c:\ 120GB d:\ DVD drive E:\ and DVD RW drive F:\ Have external USB 80GB G:\ and then kingston flash card mem reader H:\ and I:\ now and again i plug my 256mb mem stick in

my primary master is 120GB and full, my primary slave is 180GB and 90% full. 2ry master is CDRW and 2ry slave is DVD. I really need a new HDD!

there should be 2 slots on the motherboard. one will have primary written next to it and the other secondary (i think)
yeah, just use standard cables

if they arent labelled, then the primary channel often has a blue connector on the motherboard.
