if ya getting spark, and inside the dizzy is dry then i would say take your spark plugs out and the fuel pump fuse, then turn the engine over for a bit, this should dry it out a bit, then put the plugs back in, and the fuel pump fuse. hopefully it should start

battery is nearly dead tho
i where is the suel pump fuse? im not used to messing with these engines yet

looks like a coil pack
thers a £2 tool from halfords that you stick between the plug and lead this lights up if your getting power
if you are deffo getting a spark look to the fueling side fuel pump, relay, injectors, if it has them.

it could be
it just seems wierd that it was ok till i washed it. thats why id assume its an electrical prob. a similar thing has happened before but it sorted itself out

Got it sorted yet mate?
On saturday after a bit of rain the previous night. I started my car and it sounded very groggy, was ok at low revs driving down the road (under 2k) but as soon as i booted it there was nothing. Took it back home left if for 10 minutes, then took it down the road to mates garage. Switched it off, turned it back on to show him and it ran fine n dandy..
and i have a vent over my air filter though.
