yes, they are a million times better than standard size ones, plus they are cheaper than buying a set of fancy discs which are gonna make no difference.

are these 16v brakes and pads a straight swap and easy to fit? will i just need to bleed them in after fitting the new calipers or is that only with hoses?

straight fit, make sure you get the right caliper on the right side, bleed nipple needs to be at the top.
yes they will need bleeding, but that is rediculously easy to do anyway.

thanks for all the feedback! i think i will be getting the 16v brakes as it is only a 1.0 at the moment but i am looking to get a 1.6 put in september time, so im looking to slowly upgrade things in the run up. also i have heard that the v6 brakes weigh a ton in comparison is this true?

Means they are upside down I done this, easy mistake.

Undo em, take em off, swap em round, bleed em again, sorted.

They do weigh loads.

But then if you want great stopping power go straight for 4 pots (About £400-£700)

16v (2.0) are a good alternative. Will get hot if you want to do track days etc though

to be honest unless your gunna be stripping your car down like jr has done, i doubt ull notice a difference i nthe caliper weight. its not as if the wheels have to spin the caliper aswell. discs are heavy yeah but they are bigger so end of the day u expect it.....

cheers daimo i think i have decided to go for the 16v brakes, as you pointed out they will get hot on track days, but im not going to do that so i think they are the best for my purposes.

if i want say some brembo max discs would i be best going for the astra gsi discs as they are 16v ones?
do the new 16v discs change the offset in any way?
thanks
