Hello all,
My corsa seems to make a buzzing noise as i hit 4000rpms through the gears. It goes once ive past 4500rpms?
Its definatly coming from the engine. Im running a 1.4sri (16v)...
Any ideas?

I get the sme with my 1.4 8v. hink its something to do with vibration and natural frequency.

yeah, kinda like a bee trapped under ya bonnet.
but it only lasts a half a second once you pass 4000 rpms. Im gonna try the exhaust heatsheild and check the speedo cable, but its just weird that it only does it between 4000-4500rpms through all the gears...
dunno about reverse

its just resonance, the engine will cause what ever is making the noise to vibrate in harmony with the pitch of vibration the engine makes at them revs, everything has a natural resonance, dosnt matter what gear you are in like you said its the revs and the vibrations caused by them revs
All ya gotta do is change its resonance by tightening the nut etc this will change the point at which the object vibrates, BUT if its some thing that carnt be fixed better or tightened then it needs removing if possible
