maybe you fucked the fan switch when steam cleaning it?
any gunk on the filler cap or running water noises behind the radio? if so its the head gasket if not, could just be because the days are hotter..

i'm having problems with my 8v sri at the moment as well
car warms up goes all the way to almost 100, then cools down, then warms up again, and so on. the fan never comes on though!, the fan does work as i direct fed it to the battery and it worked.
The temp will never go over 100 or near the red, but always seems to be almost at the 100 mark which cant be healthy
any suggestions on what could be the problem..............

sounds like the fan switch.
other causes, knackered water pump, knackered thermostat, leaking coolent system.
