There are lots of wires in that bay. I have disconnected everything that was attatched to the ECU and got that loom out, so I'm guessing that the rest of the wires in the bay are for things like the heater, PAS and ABS (so the aren't needed)... Does anyone know?

yeah. sounds right. you just need the bits attached to the thick load that comes through the bulkhead taped together.
the rest of it can stay in the bay.
