my speedo isnt working. it must be the sender. not sure tho.
then this fault code came on
0500 Idle speed stepper motor/idle air regulator
is this problem because of the sender not working or do i have another problem?
i went to vauxhall to see how much the sender will be and the said 30 or 40 quid but they need the chassi number.
i had me car in bits today and if the sender is where i think it is, its hard to get to. so how much will vauxhall do this for?
any help would be exellent. cheers

My speedo stopped working and it was the little motor vat bolts into the top on the gearbox the cog had worn down on it carnt remember what its called only cost me £15 fitted

the ciggy lighter is working.
Gav1806. i think ur talking about the part that the older models with the thick speedo cable. this is an electric 1.
anny more ideas?

yeah. thats wot im thinking but it looks very hard to get out cos theres no room to get to it.
the sender is at the back of the gearbox isnt it.
how do u get it out?

i forgot to say the car keeps cutting out too. seen a few posts with this problem but with mechanical speedos.
can any1 tell me how to remove the sensor from the gear box?
cant really get in from the top, mabey from underneath?
