If the bolts holding the ehxhaust manifold are so rusted they dont have any shape to them and I can't get a socket to fit onto it, how the hell do I get them undone? Tried mole grips and pipe pliers... No luck

And the other thing... How do I drain the gearbox oil from a C20XE?

If they don't have shape because they're rusty, remove the rust. If they don't have any because you've chewed them, you're a little more stuck.

Mole grips should do it tbh.

I sprayed them all a few days ago with WD40 to get the oil to penitrate, and did some more today... This meant I got most of them out, but there were 3 that I put the socket on, and it just spun, either the person who had the car before me has chewwed them, or they have fallen appart - think its the latter due to the ammount of rust on that car...

remove driveshaft, place g/box on its side.
or
undo the diff plate and drain it that way

the diff plate is a bit stuck on, and that car scares the living shit out of me (I dont want to spend too much time under it). It is a death trap, you and Steve are lucky to be alive after driving it back.... The floorpan is completely rotten... The brake pads are fucked, I pulled the disk off and all the material fell of it....

If I set my engine crane to a higher weight, you reckon it will be ok to lift it out with the oil still in it?
