just replaced the headunit in my corsa c with a sony one, bought facia adapter from vauxhall all goes in fine but the clips that come with it wont hold the unit in, its still free to slide back and forwards, so i bought a sony cage and that wont fit in.
can someone who's done this and got it to fit properly tell me how they did it.
cheers

i've got an alpine unit, it slipped in perfectly and i haven't had any problems. Maybe different cages are just a tiny bit to small for vauxhalls facia.

I assume people are bending the little tabs in the cage so that it grips the facia?
You don't just shove the cage in and expect it to hold - you need to bend those wee tabs with a screwdriver so it holds on to the edge of the facia.

thats why m8 ur after market stereo cant lock into place cuz ur original cage doesnt have the securing points which come on the one which comes with the stereo.
to get it to fit right u really are going to have to remove the original cage and fit the one that came with ur stereo simple as that!

I'v had a sony and an Alpine, didn't have problems with either of them.
Are you sure you are trying hard enough to get the cage to fit? it can be a snug fit
