Ok got a 20xe engine waiting to go into my car, but just wondering what peoples opinons are on changing the current f20 gearbox i have to a f16 ???

as some people say f16 is better due to closer ratios so better accelartion and some say ratio is no difference and f20 will go further

so this leaves me not knowing what to do???

any replys and useful information is very greatful

F16 usually has shorter ratios but isn't as strong.

F20 with longer ratios will technically give you better top speed but this depends on engine power and whether you want to do 140mph in a Corsa.

ive got a F16 in mine n had no problems with it so far <touches wood>

i got told an F16 was better off the mark, n F20 was better top end, but as said, when u gonna be doing 140mph on the motoway??

f20 is better option,however cant see the point in doing over 100mph on british motorways, keep it on the track

ID GO F20 thats what im puttin bak in mine cos i blown my diff to peices @ 140 on motorway

depends what you want it for.
if you want acceleration go for a f16 out of a cavvy sri which has closer ratios than the likes of a 2l gls cavvy. go for the f20 if you want top end speed.
iv got the f16 on mine, but i just use it for 1/4 mile days,my engine kicks out 212bhp and iv had no problems so far with it.

I had F16, as u know!! and id use one again(if i wasnt putting a LET in)

i think i may stick with f20 for now just solely due to me already having this gearbox!

throttle bodies and cams, no internal mods apart from apr con rod bolts.
just had it set up properly last weekend, b4 that i ran a 14.2 @98mph 1/4 mile.
will have to wait and see how it is now its set up .
