right i know someone in france who wants to buy something off me, does anybody know rough postage costs and how he could pay me? not sure how it would work with euros and pounds and if you can still do cheques etc.

when you buy something on ebay to a foreign seller you send the money by your bank maybe you can do that to...
telle the French guy to go to his bank and ask if it's possible...

The bank should be able to do a CHAPS payment which is a same day international payment and they can send it in sterling.
