When i drive my car the needle on the temperature gauge goes high(just below the red bit) quite often.
I checked the coolant level and its ok.
so could it be thermostat, radiator? any ideas anyone?

after ten mins or so... if it only ever goes as far as the same point (a bit below the red) it souldnt be a problem. Mine went up to about 98C quite often, but never above that

mine was up at 98 once. and usually goes up to about 95,96.
its a 1995 sri so could just be the age of the car i suppose.
i might just let the car run in the driveway with the bonnet open and see if i can see the fan come on.
the thing is i'm fairly sure the car has some sort of electrical fault. i have a cat 1 clifford alarm that goes off for no reason at random times and it tells me that the method of entry was the bonnet?
i also have an oil warning light that flashes on briefly then off when i go round a roundabout or tight corner(caused by steering electrics?). the oil levels are fine.
very strange. i wish i knew where to start to fix it.
maybe i should check all the earths.
any thoughts anyone?
