my 97 1.4 16v sport is soundin like a diesel and like a 1.1 fiesta. a few ppl hav told me its the hydraulic lifters or sumit. has any1 else got any ideas or any1 had the lifters replaced on their car, if so how much did it cost etc?
any help appriciated!

give it an oil change and oil filter change....see if it makes any difference
if it dnt........it does sound a bit like hyd..lifters
vaux will av your eyes out for the price they charge if i remember rightly:
summat like £70-80quid a set aint they?

some one has told me they're £130 n tht aint from vaux! how much will a oil filter b? n how easy to change myself?

simple,
oil a tenner filter a fiver.
drain oil, take out filter, fit new one.
fill with oil.
done.
