I know converting to a 2.0 16v engine requires a special fitting kit, but what if your going from a 1.2 16v to a 1.4 16v or 1.6?

Does it slot straight in on the existing engine mounts or what?

oh yeh... also what things do you have to do after a conversion to make your car legal?

I'm guessing you have to tell insurer lol, but do you have to get a new V5 or whatever they are with 1.6 16v rather than 1.2? and do you you need a new MOT?

Fill in the V5 so that the correct engine numbers are on it, enter the new engine capacity and pay the extra tax if needed, and you could change the model too, cos it will probably have 'Corsa 1.2 SXI' down, and you could chage it to just Corsa, but it aint necessary. Or you could be sensible and trade your car in for one with a bigger engine as you haven't done many mods to it, would probably work out cheaper with the insurance e.t.c...

A lot of insurance companys will want an engineers certificate to make sure the work has been done properly too.

So not a straight swap from X12XE to ecotec 1.6 16v? (X16XE?)

I've got PAS... would this not work?

But I'd still say its a T reg Corsa SXI, worth quite a bit. It would be far better selling this car, and buying one with the engine in it you want. Save you making an odd.

i agree with 1800ed if u want a sport buy a sport would be fair enough if u was fitting a 2.0 but if u start fookin with an 1.2 and changing it to 1.4/1.6 would de value it to me and ud have bother sellin in future

1.4 16v is a very boring engine as standard, u'll get fed up with it pretty quickly...
