Looking to lower my 1.2 swing from its rediculous ride height coz it has gsi kit on it. Any tips on how to go about this and how much i should be looking to pay? Am i correct in thinking its a case of new springs all round and then pay someone to fit them?

Springs - on standard shocks is cheapest route - tho will still handle shit
Full suspension kit - shouldbe around £200 - £300 - good handling just can't adjust them
Coilover's - £400 & £800! fully adjustable and really good handling 
all depends how much u wana spend

Depends what your budget is. You can either just get a set of shorter springs, or get a full suspension kit (uprated springs + dampers/coilovers). Full suspension kit is ideally the best solution, but will cost you anything from £200 onwards.
Just springs is obv. the cheaper solution, but those combined with your standard shockers will provide a shite ride and wear out the shockers in the end.
As for fitting, it's not too hard as a DIY job. Dunno how much garage will charge to swap springs over, £40 upwards at a guess, full suspension will prob be nearer £100 to fit. With the help of a mate, Haynes, some spanners and trolley jacks, it's not too hard

well cheap as poss really. Just want it to look right. So really then i need 4 springs (its not tortion bar at the rear is it like my mates Clio)? How much should i be looking to pay for the springs and fitting?

60mm spring should be between £60.00 & £80.00 though eventually u will need to replace ur standard shocks.....

Yep new springs all round, or you can go for springs and shocks. Depends on how much you want to pay really. How low you thinking of going?? Then find someone to fit them for you, if you cant fit them yourself. Prices, look at larkspeed. Springs are £75 for 40mm springs or £88 for 60mm springs. (Prices from www.larkspeed.com)

naa torsion bars are on clio's, saxo's etc
springs £60-90 and fitting about £40-50

Go for 60mm apex springs. Will handle much better then standard springs.

If you fit them yourself, you will need a set of spring compressors for the fronts (bout £30), and you will prob need 2 trolley jacks so you can lower the rear beam in one go...

i paid £70 for G-MAX springs from halfords, lowered 40mm, loads different, handles so much better, need spring clamps to get the springs off (front only) these were £18 from halfords.
i know changing the shocks is so much better but for the money just the springs are ideal to get started and for a better apearance
