Very easy mate, get yourself on betfair.com and look at the graphs about 3mins before the off. Look to see whats shortening and drifting and also look to see what the racing post's price is.

The horse racing game is very very bent these days with the introduction of being able to lay horses on the internet. Its blindingly obvious when trainers lay their 'dead' horses.
