I have just had the cat removed and it has made a real improvement. What I would like to know is what happens if I remove the silencer next, and run a straight through system to the back box. Will it ruin performance or improve it. Also when it comes to MOT time and I put the cat back on, would I need to put the silencer back on to for emmisions?
Many thanks, and sorry for all the questions.
Tim.

As long as your exahust is not over something silly like 100db then you can leave the centre silencer off. Ive got a straight through pipe to my back box...sound isnt that loud.
The only part of the exhaust that affects your emissions is the cat...so if thats put back on then dont worry bout it
