How safe is it to get ur engine bay + engine jet washed, u know what i mean by a garage of course.

My engine bay could do with a good clean, and i did it once before on a diff car and all my lights on the dash started playing up chronic.

^^ yesh but get it done properly so they dont fook up ya electrics, etc also ya can get ur interior steam cleaned these days, meant to be good

hi mate i wouldnt do it unless u r seling the car as i am a valeter and if u steam clean the engine bay u r more likely to fuck up all the engine bits just to make it look clean but if u r selling it then do it but if not i wouldnt but u can spray it with wd40 first and then clean it by hand with some flash as that works well and wont fuck up your engine trust i have cleaned loads off engines and some times they wont start again lol, u can get the interior steam clean now and they look the nuts when done and they get all the shit out off the seats and look like new but i wouldnt do it to your engine just do it by hand

im not selling the car i just bought it.
I only really want to clean the rocker cover so i can spray it.
whats the best products to clean this and to spray it too???

I thought steam cleaning the engine is an ok thing to do as long as the electrics are well covered up???

yer that part off it but all the lil bits off bolts and shit that have to have greece round them wont any more and will start to fuck up over a period off time mate and then the engine will be shaged

Shit, my rocker cover gasket went a while back and i've just changed it recently but there loads of think oil down the front of the engine and the only way to get to it is by a power washer

round the rocker cover should be ok mate it is round the back off the engine and round the carb and shit and all the lil bolts

i take it that works myke?? ive got a chrome rocker cover on my C20XE and it hasnt been looked after so needs a major clean up, and i aint got a clue where to start with it

ive gotta clean the cav's engine the rocker gasket has gone and tere is oil down the front of the engine

Adam I have the exact same problem but i've no idea how i'm gonna get ma hand down there to clean it, thats why I thought i'd steam clean it but been told its a bad idea??

you can get some stuff called gunk rub that in with a engine brush "like a wire brush"
then hose off that what this stuff says on the tin so it must help
