when i pull away the car makes a knocking noise.. just one 'knock'
its coming from the front of the car sounds like the drivers side.
ive just recently lowered the car -40mm and its only just started doing it.
just wondered if it was anything to do with the new springs or anything..
when i brake it also knocks.. but just the once.

could be suspension?
lower arm, cv joint
or engine mount
or the exhaust

heres what it could be chris
my mate with a brand new clio got this when he fitted some new rims and eventually renault replaced his whole suspension because they couldn't find out what it was!
anyway his car is a renault so i wouldn't worry

if it does it once when u pull away then id hazard a guess at a drive shaft? they clunk when they "take up". worth considering

Sounds silly but i had the same thing, worked out to be the induction kit banging on the engine bay when the car started or i pulled away in 1st.

handles fine, its just had teh steering rack sorted out on it so the steering is puuuurrfect. 
just started knocking.
sometimes it does it going round corners.

hahha yeah me too had this!!! Got a new clunking on front left wheel think cud be bearing as m8s focus does same and got it fixed

sorry geeze but clunking when pulling off is usually the drive shafts in my opinion, doubt it will be bushes, my car has done 80,000, lowered 70mm and driven down nasty bumpy roads, i too kthe old bushes out and replaced them with powerflex ones and the old ones were still fine

could be that the brake pads aint seated properly, or the caliper sliders are fooked,

sounds like bushes engine mount cv joint
and ive heard the gearbox on some c's can go

i had this after i changed my suspention too. ive change engine mounts, lower arm balljoints, track rod ends, and bushes! it went away 4 a while but has recently come back. mine doesnt always do it when i pull off or brake. but does do it on a bumpy road. any ideas any one? could the driveshafts cause a knock while turning or over bumps? this is all ive got left to change!!!!
