Hey guys, i have an interview for Game tomorrow .... was wondering what advice you could give me. My sisters boyfriend used to work there, so im gonna see him later to see what questions they are gonna ask. But was wondering what advice you could give me on top of this ? Really want this job so im not wanting to screw it up. I know my gaming stuff so should i mention the game market or something - or would that sound too nerdy Any advice will be appreciated, thanks

Dont talk too fast. And dont imagine them in their underwear, because if you get a 20 stone heffer or a hairy fat man you'll not be able to concentrate.

Good Luck

just say you have a good knowledge of games and the current gaming market and how when you go to buy a game there is nothing worse than buying something from some one that knows nothing about games.

everytime they ask you a question answer it - and ask one of your own relating to theirs. Too many peeps persume its always q's q's q's - sell yourself to them. if all fails physical violence or sexual favours may be aother options.

Tnm, sounds like a good idea - your example of buying a game and the person selling it to you having no idea is a great example of what to say ... mainly cos its true and hard hitting imo. Asking them questions too morris could show that im interested in finding out more information about the job and the business. Physical violence - we shall see......

I've worked in Game, was fun, especially the night shifts

I was asked to give circumstances of times in my old jobs where i was under pressure and things like that, times where i had to think laterally or times where i did something over and above what i was expected to do.

I also got asked a few questions about the spec of the PS2 (it was about to be launched) so you may want to brush up on your X-Box and PS2 knowledge as these are the biggest sellers

you don't need to know everything about each console, you may not even get asked. I think the only reason i was asked was because i joined just before the PS2 came out.

If they ask you what you're into don't just say one thing (ie PC Games). Just say that you like everything but love say PS2 games or DVDs, it might be a small lie but it'll look a lot better and you'll seem more flexible. That way they'll know you have some product knowledge of everything they sell, which I'm sure you probably already do.

definitely. Shows that you care about the way you look in front of customers and all that.

I was perched on a stool when i went for my interview (lakeside). Wasn't the most comfy of positions. If they sit you in a chair then just relax and put your hands together and inbetween your legs. It appears non-threatening and friendly.

No pressure but, straight after my interview they offered me the job

I'm sure you'll breeze it matey.
