My last car was a Saxo VTS, and I have a 1.8 Corsa Sri now.
VTS felt much much quicker, even tho on paper its only slightly faster. 3rd Gear was awesome.

Only thing was that everything stopped working or fell apart. I'll never buy a french car ever again.
But when it ran properly it was great fun.

Yeah I like the 1.8 Corsa, it's just not quite as exciting as the VTS.
At least the Corsa feels solid and reliable, which is far more important after the problems I had with the VTS.

Yeah piece of piss.
VTR's aren't very quick at all. I had a 1.4 Saxo before the VTS, and it wasn't much slower than my mates VTR.

The top end of the engine had to be rebuilt as it had low compression, the alarm went off when it felt like it, the remote central locking never worked properly, the alternator, water pump all went too. It had only done 24K when I got rid off it. Looking on the car review sites it's all common VTS/GTi problems.

between the 2 here's what ive had lol:
radiator cracked
coilpack
head gasket
inlet manifold gasket (needed stripping down)
driver window runner (window would not go up)
alarm goes off randomly (both did this)

all in the last 12 months

Plus everything in the car rattles, which is very annoying.
Well sounds like you know where i'm coming from then. There was probably more problems than that I can't remember. Knocking exhaust, erratic idleing etc.
When they are running they are great cars, best handling cars ever, and great power. Being able to rev to 7200 is great, but they are so problematic it's untrue.

Yes I can agree with that... the gti I have at the moment, has only suffered from the coilpack failing and apart from the odd bulb out and the alarm issue its been solid for 4 months ive had it .... idle problem is common... did you find it more so in mcdonalds drive through's?

Not that I noticed hehe
I don't know what Peugeot are like, but everytime the Saxo went wrong it took Citroen weeks to fix it, (Most problems were covered under warranty). But as soon as the Warranty ran out I sold it, and swore I'd never buy another french car.......although I think the C2 is quite cool.
