My old CD-player finally gave up the ghost, so I went to Halfords and bought this. It was cheap

They guy in the shop said it'd fit and work perfectly fine, all I need to do was switch 2 cables across (Power cables it turns out. Something to do ACC?)

Anyhow....

All the cables are in right, everythings wired up right (it'll take a CD and eject it) but it won't turn on. Even with the ignition turned.

Am I just being a retard and missed something simple?

I checked the fuse in the back of the unit - and yes, the interior light is still working.

I took it out to change the leads over too.

Its annoying cause there MUST be power getting to it because the CD motor works. Its like its mocking me

I feel a trip back to Halfords is in order. I refuse to pay the £35 fitting fee though

you checked the fuse in the back of the unit what about the fuse in the car? normally stereos have a fall safe to stop them turning on if there is a problem check the wiring again and all fuses...

also check your battery has it got enough power most cars have a SAFE mode on stereo's if the battery is to low...

the fuse in the car also controls the interior light, its a 20a fuse.

a 20a fuse wudnt cover the ignition, which is what has gone...he's got the permenant live but no ignition, so either its not plugged in properly or the 10a fuse has gone
