Attempted to blank it off at the weekend. made the blanking plates. since then i have put it back to how it was as when i put it back with the plates i got a EGR fault up...its back to normal now but still with the fault up. The battery has been off no end of times so the fault can clear...i have also removed the secondary air pump aswell.
Can anyone help pls as i'm stuck now for what to do.
Cheers Matt

did you use 2 plates, one to blank the hole and one to act as a spacer?
Also did you make sure you used plenty of gasket sealant and a new gasket when attaching everything back. When blanking it off the EGR still works well it thinks it is, but the plates stop it from lettin the gasses back into the system. sorry if ya already know all this

Yes the EGR valve need to be in good working order berfore blanking off.
Balnking of is prevention rather than a cure to problems

i didnt have any faults untill it was blanked off...are they quite delicate? easily broke?
I did use 2 plates...and too much gasket seal the first time as it stuck the valve open. thought this was the fault but found out it wasn't after freeing everything off again.
