No its part of the air pump system it warms the cat up on start up.
I guess you could ditch it buy you would need a gsi manifold and you engine managment light may stay on

i ditched this on my 1.4 and 1.6 16v its the secondary air injction, you DONT need it to run the engine and it wont put the engine management light on. u will need one or two botls to blank the manifold off

I have removed this and have got a secondary solenoid valve fault. I'm gonna put it bk in as it only runs on cold starts and does really cause a bhp loss.

I didn't have it on my old engine, just leave the little 2 pin sensor (looks a bit like the fuel tank vent valve) pluged in.

thats the oil breather i think. it vents oil vapour back into the engine for some reason. i wouldn't take it off!!
