quick update on the c16xe- its running quite reliably, was a few flat spots which have mainly been eliminated due to idle control valve.
The car ticks over a bit off like, fluctuating between 900-1000k and when its stood in neutral and u rev it round to 6500rpm some black(not blue) smoke comes out
I had a word with my old man and he believes it shud not do it on the open road hardly as it would then be under load and not rev rnd so freely, I was wondering if it was an early sign of some where, or if it is overfuelling or something? or as I paid someone to get it fitted, if having it run on semi synth forever and the dude who fitted it filled it with a different grade cud that be affecting it and making it smoke? it smokes a wee bit when booting it in 2nd.
Any info would be brilliant so I can sleep safe lol

maybe because you keep bouncing it off the limiter?

Black smoke and bad idling points to two things - Air Mass Meter and Lambda sensor. Try replacing these with parts off of a friends car to see if they make a difference.
