ive decided im gonna get 30mm eibach springs and see how they go on standard gsi shocks. also gonna get a anti roll bar kit and a strut brace.

Understeer is greatly reduced ive found, still a touch scairy in the wet but much better than all my other setups. I wasnt sure whether to remove the ARB but tried it as it only takes 5mins to remove and found much better.
Ride isnt too bad, yes its firm but I wouldnt say its hard. I can hammer over raised manholes/potholes and not worry about it bottoming out with a 'thud' through the car like in past setups.
Ive got the rear lowered 60mm and the front 40mm and ive found its sweet although not always the best 'look' for a car to be arse end heavy but it performs.

going and do a bit of research into them - just read around on google
i ran an eibach ARB setup on my 1st mk2 golf, and it was amazing with them on. even though the car was only lowered 25mm
my current golf doesnt have them on but is lowered more, and tbh i wish id taken the roll bars off before i sold the 1st golf
you'll find also that running a stiffer front ARB will tend to lift the weight of the inside front wheel even more than normal when exiting a corner. and if you dont have a diff you'll find u'll lose traction

i'm confused now... i have a GSI ARB in the boot of my car waiting to go on.
does it make the car better or worse?

just by putting on the front will give that bit better stability in high speed corners but will also promote understeer. hence why you really need a uprated rear to dial out the understeer
idea behind ARB's is to give greater cornering stability (less body roll) without compromising on comfort levels of spring/shock combo
front = promotes understeer
rear = promotes oversteer
you want a balance of both

ah feck that so i have coilovers on mine with no ARB on the front and the handling is brilliant.
if i'm gonna get a load of understeer by installing one i dont think i'll bother....

the simple way to test it, is to stick it on blatt round a decent high speed corner. then take it off and do the same again. u will feel a difference.
up to you which you chose
though if i where u's id be looking around for a rear ARB.

hmmm i think the GSI i pulled the front ARB off has an rear ARB.........
feck though might just leave it off as the hadnling is great at the moment especially on fast corners.
tyres are trying to leave my rims on roaunabouts and slow corners though

I think an uprated one will make more difference on a car with IDRS than of the corsas design

i dont think it rolls at all really.... well compared to when i had the standard suspsenion were it was like the QE2
i should add that i have erm.... 'modifyed' the helper springs a bit

you'd be surprised. golfs also have a rear beam setup similar to corsa's though golfs incorporates a rear anti roll bar within the beam. then you bracket the extra rear bar onto that again!! there is a lot of flex in rear beams.
