for decent 6x9's you will be looking at about £100-£120.

Can't go wrong with the Infinity Kappa ones or the Alpine ones either if you are on a budget, but JL's are excellent IMO

when i first got my car and knew nothing about ICE, i got top of range Alpine headunit £350, and some 80watt 2way alpine 6x9s for £60, that was 3 years ago!!

ive read a lot about how 6x9s are just to create loud volume and should not be used in a decent/professional intstall really!

but i still have mine now, i have them in the rear parcel shelf running of a V12 alpine amp, and the quality is VERY good from the amp and because its in the rear shelf it makes them act/sound like a SUBWOOFER! lot of my mates have thought i had a sub in the back

Halfords have some Infinity 6x9s reduced from £100 to £49.99. They seem pretty good for the money

i disagree, in a system without a sub and a decent MDF parcel shelf they can sound quite nice

Yeah richie that is true a top end set of 6x9's with real power 200w rms x 2 or so will deliver a decent bass punch and sound well without a sub, problem is most people fit them in shelves WITH a sub which ruins it.
